All about the United Kingdom’s national, regional and local press

Mid Sussex Weekend Herald

The Mid Sussex Weekend Herald is a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper delivered to homes in and around the towns of Haywards Heath and Burgess Hill in the West Sussex district of Mid Sussex, including the villages of Plumpton, Hurstpierpoint, Hassocks, Ditchling, Horsted Keynes and Balcombe.

It’s published by Sussex Newspapers Ltd, based in Horsham, which is a division of the Johnston Press nationwide publishing group of regional and local newspapers. The editorial offices are in Haywards Heath and are shared with the Herald‘s parent title, the paid-for weekly tabloid the Mid Sussex Times.

It has no website of its own; the link below is to the Times‘s website.

Until recently it was known as the Mid Sussex Citizen. It underwent a revamp under that title in late October 2012 as part of a general relaunch of Johnston’s paid-for newspapers, but was then relaunched in March 2013 under the present title, joining the Crawley-based Weekend Herald series. The publication date switched from Wednesday to Friday at the same time.

The e-edition appears to have been withdrawn at the time of the retitling, although e-editions of the Citizen are still available by a web search.
