All about the United Kingdom’s national, regional and local press

Weekend Herald

The Weekend Herald is a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper distributed to homes in the Crawley area of north-eastern West Sussex, including the two nearby smaller towns of Copthorne and Crawley Down.

It’s published by Sussex Newspapers, a branch of nationwide regional and local newspaper publishers Johnston Press‘s Southern division, as a companion to their paid-for title for the area, the Crawley Observer. The editorial offices are in Crawley.

It doesn’t have a separate website, relying on the Observer‘s for its web presence.

Along with several other Johnston newspapers, it underwent a relaunch in the last week of October 2012. In March 2013 it underwent a further overhaul as the Mid Sussex Citizen, covering Haywards Heath and Burgess Hill, was rebranded as the Mid Sussex Weekend Herald.

It comes out on Fridays. An e-edition’s also available via the website.
