All about the United Kingdom’s national, regional and local press

Stroud Life

Stroud Life is a weekly tabloid newspaper for the Gloucestershire town of Stroud and the surrounding area, including the towns of Stonehouse, Minchinhampton, Chalford, Dursley and Wotton-under-Edge.

It was launched in 2008 and is published by Gloucestershire Media, a branch of Northcliffe Media – formerly the Daily Mail & General Trust‘s regional newspaper publishing arm but now the main constituent of the Local World media group.

The editorial offices used to be in Cheltenham, along with three other Gloucestershire Media titles: The Citizen, The Forester and the Gloucestershire Echo. Stroud Life now has its own offices in Stroud itself.

Up until 2013 it also shared a common website with the other titles although, in line with Northcliffe’s move in 2011 to turn their newspaper companion websites into local portals, the former separate sections within the site were abandoned. However, Local World decided early on to give all former Northcliffe newspapers their own “publisher-branded” websites.

Most of its distribution is free direct to homes, but a significant share (about one-third) is sold through the news trade.

It comes out on Wednesdays.
