Elmbridge Guardian

The Elmbridge Guardian is a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper for the Borough of Elmbridge in northern Surrey, including the towns of Esher, Cobham, Thames Ditton, Walton-on-Thames and Weybridge.

It was established in 1990 as the Esher & Elmbridge Guardian. It’s published by Newsquest (South London) and is part of Newsquest’s group of Guardian weekly freesheets covering most of South and South West London and neighbouring parts of Surrey. Unlike the rest of the titles, all of which are based at Newsquest South London’s headquarters in Sutton, it shares the editorial offices of the Richmond & Twickenham Times in Twickenham.

Although most of the distribution is direct to homes, about an eighth of the print run is distributed via pickup points in supermarkets and convenience stores.

It comes out on Thursdays. An e-edition’s also available free upon registration.
