Broxbourne Scene (defunct)

The Broxbourne Scene was a short-lived weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper for the town and district of Broxbourne in south-eastern Hertfordshire.

It was launched in September 2010 by Archant Herts & Cambs as a “news-zine” and was one of a series of four Scene publications which claimed to fuse “the excitement and thrust of a newspaper with the glamour and comfort of a magazine”. The other editions covered Hertford and Ware, Harlow and Bishop’s Stortford. All were distributed by brand-to-hand and pickup point (including parish councils) as well as direct to households.

The editorial offices were at Archant Herts & Cambs’s head offices in Stevenage and were shared with the other editions, as was the website; the link below is to the Broxbourne news pages.

It came out on Thursdays.

The series ceased publication in June 2011; the closure was blamed on market conditions and increasing business costs. The URLs below now point simply to a “Page not found” notice.
