Burnley and Pendle Citizen

The Burnley and Pendle Citizen is a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper delivered to homes in the Boroughs of Burnley and Pendle in East Lancashire, including the towns of Nelson and Colne.

It was established in December 2001 as the result of the merger of two freesheets founded within two months of each other in 1983: the Burnley Citizen (February) and The Pendle Citizen (April).

It’s published by Newsquest (North West) and is one in a series of Citizen weekly freesheet companions to their paid-for evening title for East Lancashire, the Lancashire Telegraph. The editorial offices of the Citizen series are collocated with the Telegraph‘s in Blackburn.

It comes out on Wednesdays. An e-edition’s also available free from the website.
