All about the United Kingdom’s national, regional and local press

Falkirk & Grangemouth Advertiser (defunct)

The Falkirk & Grangemouth Advertiser was a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper delivered to homes in and around the towns of Falkirk, Grangemouth and Stenhousemuir in the Falkirk council area of central Scotland.

It was published by Johnston (Falkirk) Ltd, founded in 1767 and the oldest part of the modern Johnston Press group whose regional and local newspapers cover much of the United Kingdom.

It was established in February 2011 by the amalgamation of two earlier local freesheets, the Falkirk Advertiser founded in 1979 and the Grangemouth Advertiser founded in 1900.

It had no website of its own; it shared a website and editorial offices (in Grangemouth) with its paid-for parent newspaper, the Falkirk Herald.

It came out on Wednesdays.

It ceased publication in July 2012 as a result of falling advertising revenues.
