Dromore Leader

The Dromore Leader is a weekly tabloid newspaper sold in the town of Dromore in western County Down.

It was founded in 1916. From 1929 to 1991 its title was simply Leader; from 1992 to 1994, and again for a year from September 1995, it was The Leader.

It’s published by Morton Newspapers and ultimately owned by UK-wide regional newspaper publishers Johnston Press. It comes out on Wednesdays.

Since 1994 it’s had a sister newspaper in the series: the Banbridge Leader, published for that town.

Its editorial offices were originally in Dromore but have now moved to Lisburn, where the Leader shares premises with the Ulster Star and Lisburn Echo.
