Selby Times Extra (defunct)

The Selby Times Extra was a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper distributed to homes in Selby and to the north, south and west of the town as far afield as Sherburn-in-Elmet, Skipwith and Sykehouse.

It was founded in 1985 as the Selby Chronicle and kept that title (dropping the name of the town between 1997 and 2001) until 2006. It was published by the Yorkshire Weekly Newspaper Group, part of Johnston Press, and was a companion to the Selby Times – with which it shared its editorial offices (in Selby) and a website.

It came out on Fridays.

It ceased publication in late 2008.
