Rye & Battle Observer

The Rye & Battle Observer is a two-title series of weekly tabloid newspapers sold in the towns of Rye and Battle in East Sussex, together with villages in the surrounding area including Winchelsea, Peasmarsh, Robertsbridge and Northiam.

The Rye & Battle Observer series was founded in 1991. It’s part of a group of Observer newspapers for the area; other titles in the group are the Hastings Observer and the Bexhill Observer.

The group is published by T R Beckett Ltd, who are based in St Leonards-on-Sea; they’re part of the Johnston Press nationwide group of regional and local newspapers. The editorial offices for the group are in St Leonards-on-Sea, and they’re printed in Portsmouth.

The two newspapers in the Rye & Battle Observer series are the Rye Observer and the Battle Observer. They share a common website.

Both editions come out on Fridays.
