Sunderland Star (defunct)

The Sunderland Star was a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper delivered to households in the city of Sunderland at the mouth of the River Wear.

It was one of a series of Star freesheets published by Northeast Press (part of the Northeast division of Johnston Press), established in 1988 as a companion series to their paid-for daily tabloid the Sunderland Echo. The Star had no website of its own; the link below is to the Echo‘s website.

It came out on Thursdays.

It ceased publication in early 2011. Other titles in the series remain in print.
