Darlington, Aycliffe & Sedgefield Advertiser

The Darlington, Aycliffe & Sedgefield Advertiser is a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper distributed to homes in the south-eastern part of County Durham, centring upon the towns of Darlington, Sedgefield and Newton Aycliffe.

It’s one of a series of Advertiser freesheets for Co. Durham established in 1986 by North of England Newspapers. Initially there were two issues for the area, the Darlington Advertiser and the Aycliffe & Sedgefield Advertiser, but the two were amalgamated in 1995.

It’s now published by Newsquest (Yorkshire & North East). It falls into the South Durham group together with the Wear Valley Advertiser. Like all the Advertiser series, it’s based in Darlington, in the same offices that produce the Northern Echo.

It comes out on Wednesdays.
