The Wear Valley Advertiser
is a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper distributed to homes in western County Durham
in and around the towns of Bishop Auckland, Spennymoor, Crook and Shildon.
It was founded in 1984. It’s published by Newsquest (Yorkshire & North East) and together with the Darlington, Aycliffe & Sedgefield Advertiser is part of their larger South Durham Advertiser Group, based in Darlington.
It comes out on Wednesdays.
