Cleethorpes Chronicle

The Cleethorpes Chronicle is a weekly tabloid newspaper sold in the town of Cleethorpes and in nearby towns and villages in the unitary authority of North East Lincolnshire, including parts of Grimsby as well as the towns of Waltham, Scartho and Humberston.

It was founded in 2008 as an independent venture by the former deputy editor of the Grimsby Telegraph, Nigel Lowther, and Mark Webb, the former managing director of the Telegraph‘s publishing company, Grimsby & Scunthorpe Newspapers. The editorial offices are in Cleethorpes.

It won praise from Prime Minister David Cameron on its fifth anniversary in March 2013.

Its website contains no news and serves only to give information about the newspaper and its publisher, and as a channel for enquiries. Lowther, who is also the editor, has stated that he sees no business sense in publishing resource-intensive news free online.

It comes out on Thursdays.
