Stevenage Advertiser

The Stevenage Advertiser – formerly the Stevenage, Codicote & Knebworth Advertiser – is a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper delivered to homes in and around the town of Stevenage in northern Hertfordshire.

It’s published by Herts & Essex Newspapers, part of the Iliffe News & Media group (which itself has been part of the Local World group since the end of 2012).

It’s part of an Advertiser group founded in 1997 that also includes editions for Biggleswade and Hitchin. At one stage it was owned by Observer Standard Newspapers (now Bullivant Media) and was one of very few titles of theirs outside the West Midlands region. Iliffe took the group on in November 2006 and changed the style in 2008 to make the newspapers editorial in character.

The editorial offices are in Milton near Cambridge, although there’s a local office for the group in Hitchin. All three Advertiser editions share a common website.

It comes out on Wednesdays. An e-edition’s also available free via the website.
