South Wales Guardian

The South Wales Guardian is a weekly tabloid newspaper sold in an area straddling the border between West Glamorgan and Carmarthenshire, centred on the town of Ammanford and extending as far afield as Pontarddulais to the south, Cross Hands and Llandeilo in the west, Llandovery in the north, and Ystradgynlais and Ystalyfera to the east.

It was founded in 1955. From 1959 to 1987 it was known as the South Wales Guardian & Amman Valley Chronicle. It absorbed the West Glamorgan Chronicle in 1993.

It’s published by Newsquest (Wales & Gloucestershire), from editorial offices in Ammanford.

It comes out on Wednesdays.
