South Belfast News

The South Belfast News is a weekly tabloid newspaper sold from newsstands and distributed free to homes in South Belfast (the part of the city to the east of the River Lagan), including the districts of Castlereagh, Bloomfield, Stormont, Orangefield, Ravenhill and Rosetta.

It was launched in 2002. It’s published by the Belfast Media Group as one of three weekly tabloids covering the city (the others are the Andersonstown News and the North Belfast News). It’s cross-community, and claims to be the only Belfast newspaper to provide a platform for columnists from all the political parties.

Although it has its own Web domain, the URL currently redirects to the Belfast Media Group’s website.

It comes out on Wednesdays. It’s available online as an e-edition (paid); an iOS app is also available.
