Wharfe Valley Times

The Wharfe Valley Times is a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper delivered to homes in the Wharfe Valley area north of Leeds in West Yorkshire, in particular the towns of Ilkley, Otley, Horsforth and Bramhope.

It was established in 1982 as a freesheet companion to the Yorkshire Evening Post for the area. It split into editions for Horsforth & Cookridge and for Otley in 1984; an edition for Ilkley was added in 1987, but split off as the Ilkley Times in 1993. The two older editions were re-amalgamated in 1999.

It’s published by Yorkshire Post Newspapers Ltd (part of Johnston Press since they took it over in 2002) from editorial offices in Leeds which it shares with its parent newspaper. In October 2012 it moved from the YPN offices in Wellington Street, which had been the company’s home since 1970, to the new Number 1 Leeds building in Whitehall Road.

It has no website of its own; its Web presence is through the YEP‘s website.

It comes out on Thursdays.
