Runcorn Weekly News

The Runcorn Weekly News (originally the Runcorn Weekly News & District Reporter; it lost the District Reporter in 1963) is a weekly tabloid newspaper sold in the town of Runcorn in the Borough of Halton in North Cheshire, and surrounding villages including Frodsham, Helsby, Kingsley, Manley and Norley.

Its history goes back at least to the 1870s. It’s published by Trinity Mirror Cheshire, a branch of Trinity Mirror North West & Wales. It’s the smaller (in circulation terms) of a two-title series together with the Widnes Weekly News. Both newspapers share the same editorial offices (in Widnes) and the same website.

A freesheet companion, the Weekly News Xtra, closed in the summer of 2011.

It comes out on Thursdays.
