Harrow Leader (defunct)

The Harrow Leader was a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper for the London Borough of Harrow in north-western Greater London. Its circulation area covered all the principal suburbs within the Borough, including Stanmore, Hatch End, Pinner, Rayners Lane, Northwood, Kenton and Wealdstone.

It was founded in 1983 as the Harrow version of a multi-edition newspaper entitled simply The Leader, but became The Harrow Leader when The Leader was split into (at least nominally) free-standing titles later the same year. In 1997 it was retitled the Harrow, Stanmore, Kingsbury Leader, then became the Harrow & Stanmore Leader for eight months from July 2000 before reverting to the Harrow Leader title in April 2001.

It was published by Trinity Mirror Southern as a companion to their paid-for weekly tabloid for the Borough, the Harrow & Wembley Observer series. It shared editorial offices with the Observer and piggybacked on its website.

Like the Observer, it came out on Thursdays.

It was incorporated into the Observer in October 2010.
