Aldershot News & Mail

The Aldershot News & Mail is a weekly broadsheet newspaper sold in several editions across north-eastern Hampshire, south-eastern Berkshire and western Surrey, including the towns of Camberley, Crowthorne, Farnborough, Farnham, Fleet and Yateley as well as Aldershot itself.

It’s published by Surrey & Berkshire Media, formerly part of the Guardian Media Group but taken over by Trinity Mirror in March 2010. The editorial offices are in Guildford.

Its origins lie in the Aldershot News, founded in 1894, and a series of … Mail titles that first appeared some time in the early 1970s. Immediately prior to 2009 the News & Mail appeared twice weekly under the two separate titles, although it has previously appeared as a composite title. The midweek edition (the Mail) has been dropped, leaving the combined News & Mail, which comes out on Fridays.

As of 2013 there were seven editions:

  • Aldershot
  • Ash/Farnham
  • Camberley
  • Farnborough
  • Fleet
  • Sandhurst/Crowthorne
  • Yateley

There’s also a companion weekly freesheet, the Surrey & Hants Star Courier.
