The Chronicle eXTRA – Tyne West
was a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper distributed in homes in the western suburbs of Newcastle-upon-Tyne and other nearby towns and villages to the west of the city
, in an area taking in the towns of Prudhoe, Blaydon, Rowland’s Gill and Ryton.
It was published by NCJ Media, part of the nationwide Trinity Mirror group. It was a companion to their evening tabloid for the North East of England, the Evening Chronicle, and was one of a series of several Chronicle eXTRA newspapers, of which only the Newcastle and Gateshead editions remain. The editorial offices were in Newcastle.
It came out on Wednesdays.
