The Wishaw HUB (defunct)

The Wishaw HUB was a fortnightly freesheet community newspaper delivered to homes and pickup points in the town of Wishaw in North Lanarkshire, as well as other nearby towns and villages including Motherwell and Shotts in North Lanarkshire and Carluke and Lanark in South Lanarkshire council area.

It was founded in August 2010 by the HUB Media group as part of a series of community newspapers with a focus on good news stories, which the group aimed to expand across Scotland and the rest of the UK. The editorial offices were in Uddingston.

The website was somewhat patchy, but did offer a link to an e-edition – although a search was then required to find the latest available edition, which at the time of writing was the early September 2011 edition.

It came out on alternate Fridays.

The Wishaw HUB appears to have ceased publication at the beginning of 2012 – there have been no new issues since then, and it hasn’t posted through its social media accounts either.
