The HUB (defunct)

The HUB was a fortnightly freesheet community newspaper delivered to homes and pickup points in the towns and villages straddling the boundary between the council areas of South Lanarkshire and North Lanarkshire, in particular Hamilton, Motherwell and Bellshill.

It was founded in late 2009 by the HUB Media group with a focus on good news stories. It was later joined by several new additions to the series – including Airdrie and Coatbridge, Wishaw and most recently Perth. The editorial offices were in Uddingston – initially, according to its website, The HUB stood for “The Heart of Uddingston and Bothwell”.

The website was incomplete, but did and does offer a link to an e-edition – although a search is then required to find the various editions.

It came out on alternate Fridays. The last issue was published in late January 2012.
