All about the United Kingdom’s national, regional and local press

East Lothian News

The East Lothian News is a weekly tabloid newspaper sold in the council area of East Lothian, from Musselburgh in the west to Dunbar in the east and taking in Prestonpans, Cockenzie and Port Seton, North Berwick and Haddington in between.

It was launched in 1971. It’s published by Tweeddale Press, part of the Johnston Press UK-wide group of regional newspaper publishers. The editorial offices were in Dalkeith but closed in June 2011, with staff relocating to Scotsman Publications’ offices – home of The Scotsman – in Edinburgh.

Musselburgh has its own sub-edition, the Musselburgh News, which is actually considerably older (it was founded in 1889 as The Musselburgh News, Midlothian Journal and Portobello Advertiser) but has a smaller circulation.

It comes out on Fridays.
