All about the United Kingdom’s national, regional and local press

Carrick Gazette

The Carrick Gazette is a weekly tabloid newspaper sold in the Carrick area in the south of the South Ayrshire council area, including the towns of Girvan and Maybole and the coastal village of Turnberry.

It was launched in 1972 as the Carrick Gazette and Girvan News, but switched to its present shorter title in 1981. It’s published by the Galloway Gazette Group, a branch of the Scotland division of Johnston Press, the UK-wide regional newspaper publishing group. As its name suggests, the Group also publishes the Galloway Gazette. The editorial offices are in Girvan.

It comes out on Thursdays.
