Airdrie & Coatbridge World (defunct)

The Airdrie & Coatbridge World was a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper distributed to homes in the towns of Airdrie and Coatbridge in the Monklands district of North Lanarkshire.

It was established in 1982 by Hamilton-based Scottish & Universal Newspapers (part of the UK-wide Trinity Mirror group) as a companion to S&UN’s paid-for title for the area, the Airdrie & Coatbridge Advertiser weekly tabloid, from the same editorial offices in Airdrie.

It had no website of its own; the link below is to the Advertiser’s website.

It came out on Fridays.

In August 2011 Scottish & Universal Newspapers announced that it was suspending publication of all its freesheet newspapers with effect from the week ending 9 September 2011.
