All about the United Kingdom’s national, regional and local press

Nidderdale Herald

The Nidderdale Herald is a weekly tabloid newspaper sold in the village of Pateley Bridge and the valley of Nidderdale in North Yorkshire, on the fringes of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

It was founded in 1863 as the Pateley Bridge & Nidderdale Herald and kept that title right up until 2012, when it assumed its present shorter title.

It’s part of a group of papers for North Yorkshire headed by the Harrogate Advertiser and published by the Harrogate-based Ackrill Media Group, which in turn is part of the Johnston Press group of regional newspaper publishers.

Since 2012 it no longer has a website of its own; the URLs given below redirect to the Nidderdale news pages on the Advertiser‘s website.

It used to come out on Fridays, but switched to Thursday publication – and moved away from broadsheet format – as of 31 May 2012.
