All about the United Kingdom’s national, regional and local press

Beverley Advertiser

The Beverley Advertiser is a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper distributed to homes in Beverley, the historic county town of the East Riding of Yorkshire, and neighbouring villages.

It was founded in 1977. For nearly eight years from 1995 to 2003 it was called the Beverley and East Yorkshire Advertiser.

It’s published by Mail News & Media, a branch of Northcliffe Media, which used to be the Daily Mail & General Trust‘s regional newspaper publishing division but is now part of the new Local World group. The editorial offices are in Hull.

It’s part of a sister Advertiser series to Mail News & Media’s daily paid-for titles for the county, the Hull Daily Mail and the East Riding Mail. Unlike the other Advertisers, it used to have a mini-website of its own, but this had been wound up by March 2011. It now contributes news stories to Northcliffe’s local portal site for Beverley.

It comes out on Thursdays.
