Stafford Post (defunct)

The Stafford Post was a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper distributed to households in the county town of Stafford and the surrounding area, including the towns of Eccleshall, Gnosall and Stone.

It was founded in 1984 and published by Midland Newspapers Ltd, a branch of national newspaper giants Trinity Mirror‘s Midlands division.

A separate edition, the Stone Post, covered Stone.

It came out on Thursdays.

Trinity Mirror Midlands announced in November 2011 that the Stafford Post would be closed as part of an efficiency savings process. The editorial offices in Stafford were closed; the URL now redirects to the Birmingham Mail‘s website.
