Coventry Times

The Coventry Times is a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper for the City of Coventry in the former West Midlands Metropolitan County. It’s delivered to two-thirds of the city’s households.

It was founded as the Coventry Citizen in 1982 and kept that name until a relaunch in early 2007. It’s published by Coventry & Warwickshire Newspapers, a branch of Trinity Mirror‘s Midlands division. The editorial offices are shared with its paid-for daily companion title, the Coventry Telegraph.

Its web presence is through the Telegraph‘s website. (It lost its sub-domain on that website in a 2013 revamp. It still has a sub-domain of the Telegraph‘s old icCoventry website, but that hasn’t been updated since 2009.)

Until 2011 it was part of a series of Times newspapers for Coventry and Warwickshire, including the Rugby Times for the east of the county and the Warwickshire Times series covering Warwick, Leamington and Kenilworth. All the other titles have now ceased publication.

It comes out on Thursdays.
