Burntwood Post (defunct)

The Burntwood Post was a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper for central southern Staffordshire, delivered to homes in Burntwood, Hammerwich and Chasetown.

It was published by Trinity Mirror Midlands and was the smaller of two editions of their Cannock Chase & Burntwood Post series, the larger predictably being the Cannock Chase Post. It first appeared in 1989 as the Burntwood and Brownhills edition of the Chase Post, but dropped Brownhills the following year; it became the Burntwood Chase Post in 1992 and then settled on its final title in 1994.

Both titles shared editorial offices in Cannock and came out on Thursdays.

Trinity Mirror Midlands announced on 14 November 2011 that the Chase Post series would be closed as part of an efficiency savings process. The final edition appeared three days later. The domain below has now been listed for sale.
