Truro Packet (defunct)

The Truro Packet was a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper delivered to households in the Cornish cathedral city and county town of Truro and its surrounding area, including the villages of Perranporth and St Agnes on Cornwall’s northern coast.

It was launched in 1979 as the Truro City Shopper, but rebranded as the Truro Packet in 1985.

It was published by Newsquest (South West). It was one of a series of Packet newspapers sold or distributed free in central and south-western Cornwall, from editorial offices in Falmouth.

It came out on Wednesdays. A free e-edition’s also available via the website.

It was merged with the Camborne and Redruth edition of the Packet series in January 2013 to form a single The Packet title.
