Culm Valley Gazette

The Culm Valley Gazette is a weekly tabloid newspaper sold in the Culm Valley area in Mid Devon, including the town of Cullompton and nearby villages along the River Culm.

It was founded in 1983. It’s one of three editions of the Mid Devon Gazette series published by Exeter-based Express & Echo News & Media Ltd, a division of Northcliffe Media (which in turn was the regional newspaper publishing wing of the Daily Mail & General Trust until being spun off as the major constituent of the new Local World group at the end of 2012). The series celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2008.

It shares a website with the other editions of the Mid Devon Gazette. Until 2013 that website was thisisexeter.co.uk, also shared with the Express & Echo and from 2011 a general local portal to which Northcliffe’s newspapers merely contributed (and contribute) news. However, in early 2013 Local World decided to create “publisher-branded” websites for the Northcliffe titles, at which point the Mid Devon Gazette series acquired its own site.

It comes out on Tuesdays.
