Reading Evening Post (defunct)

The Reading Evening Post was an evening tabloid newspaper published Mondays to Fridays (but not on Wednesdays) and sold in Reading and surrounding parts of Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Hampshire.

It was founded in 1965. It was owned and published by Surrey and Berkshire Newspapers Ltd, which at the time of its demise was part of the Guardian Media Group. It was accompanied by a freesheet weekly tabloid, the Reading Post, on Wednesdays.

In early 2009 it was announced that the Evening Post would switch to weekly publication on Wednesdays and be renamed the Reading Post, and that the weekly freesheet would be renamed getreading (after the companion website) and shift to Friday publication.

The Reading Evening Post ceased publication at the end of May 2009.
