Eastbourne Advertiser (defunct)

The Eastbourne Advertiser – in full, the Eastbourne & District Advertiser until 2009 – was a weekly freesheet tabloid distributed to households in and around the East Sussex seaside resort town of Eastbourne.

It was established in 1984 and was published by T R Beckett Ltd, a branch of Johnston Press‘s South division, as a companion to its paid-for titles for the town, the Eastbourne Gazette series and the Eastbourne Herald. It shared a website with both, and was produced from the Gazette‘s editorial offices in Commercial Road.

It came out on Fridays.

It was “mothballed” in January 2011 as uneconomic to produce in the prevailing economic circumstances, especially given high newsprint costs.
