Runcorn and Widnes World

The Runcorn and Widnes World is a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper delivered to homes in the towns of Runcorn and Widnes and their neighbouring villages in the Borough of Halton in north-western Cheshire, either side of the River Mersey.

It’s published by Newsquest (North West). The editorial offices are in Warrington and are shared with the Warrington Guardian.

It was created in 2009 as a result of the merger of the former Runcorn World and Widnes World.

Although it’s primarily a freesheet, a very small number of copies (fewer than one per cent) are sold through supermarkets and other retail outlets.

It comes out on Wednesdays. An e-edition’s also available free on the website.
