Preston Reporter (defunct)

The Preston Reporter was a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper for the Lancashire towns of Preston and Leyland and other towns around the head of the Ribble estuary, including Bamber Bridge, Higher Walton, Longton and Farington.

It was published by Lancashire Evening Post Ltd, a sub-division of nationwide regional newspaper publishing group Johnston Press, as a companion to the Preston-based evening tabloid newspaper the Lancashire Evening Post.

It had no website of its own; its Internet presence was through the LEP‘s website. Likewise, it shared the LEP‘s editorial offices in Preston.

Until 2009 it was known as the Preston & Leyland Reporter.

It came out on Thursdays.

It ceased publication after a drastic fall in its circulation from over 55,000 in the second half of 2010 to fewer than 20,000 in the first half of 2012.
