Oldham Extra

The Oldham Extra is a monthly freesheet tabloid newspaper delivered to homes in the western part of the Metropolitan Borough of Oldham in Greater Manchester (formerly Lancashire), including the town of Oldham itself and the neighbouring smaller towns of Failsworth, Royton, Shaw and Chadderton.

It was launched in August 2010 as a weekly and replaced the earlier Oldham Chronicle Weekend as a companion to independent publishers Hirst, Kidd & Rennie Ltd‘s paid-for tabloid title, the Oldham Evening Chronicle, with which it shares editorial offices in Oldham. It also shifted publication day, from Friday to Thursday.

It now comes out on the first Thursday of every month. An e-edition’s also available free via the Chronicle‘s website.
