All about the United Kingdom’s national, regional and local press

Durham Times

The Durham Times is a weekly paid-for and freesheet tabloid newspaper covering the City of Durham itself and much of northern County Durham from Easington in the east to Tow Law in the west, and northwards as far as Chester-le-Street.

It was founded in 2007 on the model of the Darlington & Stockton Times and is Durham’s only paid-for weekly title. It’s published by Newsquest (Yorkshire & North East) from editorial offices in Darlington.

Although Newsquest describe it as primarily a paid-for title, nearly half its weekly circulation is either delivered free to readers of national dailies or given away free to readers within Durham City.

It has a Twitter feed, but only for sports news.

It comes out on Fridays.
