Stratford Recorder (defunct)

The Stratford Recorder was a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper distributed direct to homes and via pickup points in the London Borough of Newham, covering the districts of East Ham, West Ham, Upton and Upton Park, Forest Gate and Plaistow as well as Stratford itself.

It was launched in April 2011 by publishers Archant London (a division of the Norwich-based Archant media group) as a replacement for the 145-year-old Stratford & Newham Express (which, according to its masthead, it incorporated). It was a slip edition of the paid-for Newham Recorder; the editorial offices were in Archant London’s Ilford headquarters.

It came out on Wednesdays. Archived free e-editions can still be found online by searching.

It ceased publication in November 2012.
