All about the United Kingdom’s national, regional and local press

Barnet & Potters Bar Times

The Barnet & Potters Bar Times is a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper for the northern part of the London Borough of Barnet on the northern edge of Greater London and adjacent parts of Hertfordshire, including Barnet and Potters Bar themselves as well as nearby Cockfosters, Totteridge, Whetstone and South Mimms.

It was founded in 1985 as the Barnet Borough Times. It’s published by Newsquest (North London) as part of a three-title group serving the London Borough of Barnet and neighbouring parts of Hertfordshire. The other titles in the series are the Edgware & Mill Hill Times and the original title in the series, the Hendon & Finchley Times. The editorial offices of the series were formerly in Hendon, but have now been centralised with Newsquest (North London)’s other titles in Watford.

A small number of copies of each issue (fewer than two per cent) are sold through the news trade. Rather more (but still fewer than five per cent) are distributed free through pickup points in supermarkets.

It comes out on Thursdays. It’s also available online as a (free) e-edition.
