Ilkeston, Ripley & Heanor Express (defunct)

The Ilkeston, Ripley & Heanor Express was a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper delivered to homes in the towns of Ilkeston in the Borough of Erewash and Ripley and Heanor in the District of Amber Valley, both in Derbyshire.

It was published by the Derby Telegraph Media Group, a branch of Northcliffe Media, which at the time was the regional newspaper publishing division of the Daily Mail & General Trust. It was one of a series of Express titles, all based at the same editorial offices in Derby and led by the Derby Express; it was founded in 2011 by the merger of the former Ilkeston Express and Ripley & Heanor Express.

It had no website of its own; its Internet presence was through Northcliffe’s thisisderbyshire.co.uk website.

It came out on Thursdays.

It closed in March 2012 with the relaunch of the Express series as the Telegraph Lite.
