Gainsborough Target (defunct)

The Gainsborough Target was a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper distributed to homes in the town of Gainsborough and commuter villages in surrounding parts of West Lindsey in Lincolnshire and Bassetlaw in northern Nottinghamshire.

It was founded in 1987 and published by Lincolnshire Media, a branch of Northcliffe Media, the regional newspaper publishing division of the Daily Mail & General Trust. The editorial offices were in Gainsborough.

It came out on Fridays.

In June 2012 Lincolnshire Media announced that the Target would cease publication in mid-July 2012, with the launch of the new West Lincolnshire edition of the Lincolnshire Echo. The final edition was published on 13 July.
