Huntingdon Weekly News (defunct)

The Huntingdon Weekly News was a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper for the town of Huntingdon and the north of the former county of Huntingdonshire (now a district within Cambridgeshire), taking in the towns of Brampton, Godmanchester and Ramsey as well as Houghton, the Stukeleys and other villages.

It was published by Cambridge Newspapers, part of Iliffe News & Media, and formed part of a three-title series together with the St Neots Weekly News and the St Ives Weekly News. Exactly when it came into existence is unclear; although there was a Hunts Weekly News as early as 1889, it seems doubtful that it was the same newspaper.

Upon Iliffe’s acquisition of the Town Crier series from Johnston Press in January 2009 it was merged with the Huntingdon Town Crier, the St Ives Town Crier and the St Ives Weekly News to form the Huntingdon & St Ives News & Crier.
