Coastal Scene – West (defunct)

The Coastal Scene – West was a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper for the south-western part of the Suffolk coastal area, including the towns of Framlingham, Woodbridge and Wickham Market.

It was published by Archant Suffolk, the county’s branch of media group Archant‘s Archant Anglia division, and was founded by them in March 2011 as a relaunch of their earlier weekly freesheet for the area, the Coastal Advertiser.

Most copies were delivered direct through letterboxes, but a small number were also available through pickup points at various Co-op stores, tourist information centres and a variety of other outlets including cafés, pubs and farm shops.

The editorial offices were in Framlingham at Archant Suffolk’s East Suffolk office, although there was also a newsdesk at Archant Suffolk’s headquarters in Ipswich.

In January 2012 it merged with the other edition, the Coastal Scene – East, to form a unified Coastal Scene. The new title kept the existing editorial offices, but the West edition’s URL now redirects to the coastalscene24.co.uk URL used by the old East edition.

It came out on Fridays. E-editions were formerly available free on the website but appear to have been lost in the merger.
