West Hampshire Observer

The West Hampshire Observer is a weekly freesheet tabloid newspaper distributed to homes in and around the towns of Andover and Romsey in the Test Valley in western Hampshire.

It was founded in 2003 by independent publishers Hampshire Media, the brainchild of Jez Walder and Mark O’Connor, who had previously worked on the Hampshire Chronicle but left that newspaper in 2000 when it was taken over by Newsquest.

It’s a companion title to their earlier foundation, the Mid Hampshire Observer, whose website and editorial offices (in Winchester) it shares.

It comes out on Thursdays. A free e-edition is also available on the website.
