Gwent Gazette

The Gwent Gazette is a weekly tabloid newspaper sold in the County Borough of Blaenau Gwent in South Wales, covering the towns of Ebbw Vale, Tredegar, Brynmawr and Abertillery.

It was founded in May 1969. It’s published by Media Wales, the South Wales branch of Trinity Mirror, and is part of their Celtic Weekly Newspapers series. As such, it shares a website with the other newspapers in the series as well as the South Wales Echo, the Western Mail and Wales on Sunday, although it has its own social media presence.

The Gazette used to share editorial offices in Merthyr Tydfil with the Merthyr Express and the Rhymney Valley Express. Trinity Mirror announced at the end of January 2014 that it was centralising all its South Wales newspaper operations at their Six Park Street office in Cardiff.

It comes out on Tuesdays. An e-edition’s also available by paid subscription.
