County Times
The County Times is a weekly tabloid newspaper sold across Mid-Wales (Powys).
It’s published by NWN Media (formerly the North Wales Newspapers group), a 200-year-old independent family-owned company with head offices in Mold near Wrexham. Its editorial offices are in Welshpool (Y Trallwng).
It appears in three editions:
- The County Times & Express is the edition for Montgomeryshire and appears to have its origins in the Montgomeryshire County Times & Shrewsbury & Mid Wales Advertiser. Since early 2011(?) there’s been a dedicated sub-edition for Newtown;
- The County Times & Gazette is the edition for Radnorshire and North Brecknock; it descended from the Brecon and Radnor Express and Carmarthen Gazette.
Both editions have been appearing under their current names since 1969.
It comes out on Fridays. An e-edition is available on the website by paid subscription.
