Turriff Advertiser

The Turriff Advertiser is a weekly tabloid newspaper sold in and around the town of Turriff in northern Aberdeenshire.

It was founded in 1933 as the Turriff & District Advertiser by W D Peters and R G Peters, who produced it in their newly founded commercial printworks. It’s still produced by the same family-owned company, W. Peters & Son Ltd, from their offices and works in Turriff High Street.

Two new sister titles were launched in the 1950s: the Inverurie & District Advertiser in 1952 and the Ellon & District Advertiser in 1957. In 1979 all three dropped the & District from their titles.

The Advertiser currently relies on the W. Peters & Son Ltd website – which was revamped in November 2012 – for its web presence.

It comes out on Fridays.
